Progressive Christians Uniting (Peter Laarman) and The D.L. Dykes, Jr. Foundation are partnering in a FAITH AND REASON seminar this October 8 & 9 in Pasadena, CA.
As a result of our gathering this past winter in Minneapolis, MN, we are taking a bold step in combining our progressive efforts and pooling our resources to reach hundreds (possibly thousands) of progressives who share our passion to resolve the "savage inequality" that exists within our churches, throughout this nation and the world.
Progressive Christians Uniting is a growing Southern California network of individuals and congregations seeking to express and embody a version of Christianity that looks more like the religion of Jesus than the religion of empire. Over the years, the organization has been supported by several hundred individual donors, regional conferences and judicatories, and congregations throughout Greater Los Angeles, as well as by significant foundation support for its criminal justice reform project and for other specific projects.
The D.L. Dykes, Jr. Foundation created FAITHANDREASON® to nurture learning opportunities for spiritual growth, but not at the expense of critical thinking or historical accuracy. Through their seminars and educational resources, they offer individuals and church groups a way to strengthen their faith and look beyond their personal experience to meet the challenges of the larger human community.
